THE UK EQUITY MARKETS ASSOCIATION TALKS TO CNBC

Sunil Dhall, Chair of the UK Equity Markets Association appeared on CNBC Street Signs in March, discussing the UK’s future as a financial centre, highlighting the need to boost the small and midcap sector and encourage companies to list in the UK.

The discussion covered the barriers to entry for UK listings, stressing the importance of increased retail participation and why the UK government must push forward swiftly with the Edinburgh Reforms to enable great retail investor access.

Sunil highlights the news of ARM choosing a sole-US listing as a sign of the changes urgently required to encourage companies of the future to return to the UK.

The UKEMA is pushing for deep and liquid equity markets, through pension reforms, tax incentives for wider share ownership and other initiatives to increase liquidity within the retail markets.
